: Does the 258 really need the EGR sys RockReadyXJ 09-25-2001, 03:08 AM I just removed my intake and exhaust maniflods on the 258 in the YJ i just got and when i went to reinstall them i cross threaded the hell out of the threads in the intake manifold. Does anyone see any problems with just plugging up the EGR tube ports on the intake and exhaust manifolds. i already have the nutter bypass on the engine so most of the emmsions stuff should be disabled anyway.
