hey, I posted this in the Chevy board, but it's kinda slow....thought you guys could help. buddy has am '89 chevy 1500. this is not for a rock rig or anything like that, he's just trying to get it a little higher off the ground. is re-keying the torsion bars on a chevy sort of like cranking up the torsion bars on a toyota? we are trying to lift the front a little bit without getting a whole lift kit. Thanks guys.

ok, I talked to my buddy, he says rekeying raises the front, but doesnt crank up the torsion bars. Has anyone done it, and does it change the ride at all?

If you reindex the torsin bar it does the same thing as tightening the adjuster. If you look at the adjuster and how it works it just rotates the end of the torsion bar therefore it is reindexing the bar.
