The driver, passenger, and 3 month old dog all walked away, we only had minor bruises and cuts. Very lucky to be here.

Damn, that sucks bad but I'm glad no one was hurt.

So....wanna sell the bumpers??

FearMe

If that was a highway accident, glad your not hurt and hope you had good insurance, damn bad luck.
If you were out wheeling and rolled down some hill, I'm still glad your not hurt but your an idiot for being there with no cage.

I'd be happy to sell the bumpers, but I don't know about shipping them to AZ all the way from Santa Clara (near San Jose), I'd give them both to you if you paid shipping and gave me...oh..$175.
Smittybilt front $230 new, myself built rear prob. worth $100 or so.

Yeah Fear Me you are right I shouldn't have been wheelin w/o a cage, I've been building an exo but it takes alot of time and $$ which are two things I dion't have a lot of. I'm not an idiot, just a lucky fool perhaps.

My next rig is gonna be a flatbedded hi-boy with and exo AND internal cage designed specifically to hold up in a roll like this. The old cage I was making wouldn't have done much for me in this "accident".

What happened was that I think my Superlift braided brake line broke at the top of the hill, so when I got stuck and put it in reverse with my foot on the brake it was like releasing the line lock on a drag car. She took off , slid sideways, hit the enbankment and tumle tumble 150ft. down to the flat.

If anyone has seen the grey blazer roll on Real TV at Hollister that's the hill I came down but went off the side instead iof right down the trail.

Needless to say it sucked, but I could care less about the truck as long as all human and animal cargo are safe.

You call that dead  C'mon man...it's a ford. Pop that shit out, put some air in the tires and go wheelin!

BTW - Welcome to the idiot without a cage club. I've been there done that, still don't have a cage. Hopefully I'll get something built in the not so distant future.

I agree with nobody, I'd keep it, salvage what I could and make it a straight wheeler. Your basically starting from scratch, but if you can salvage the engine, axles, and frame; you'd be ahead.
Slam an exo on it, and hit the trails once more.
But, you are one lucky guy, Glad no one was injured.:flipoff2:

Well a friend has a 76 F250 I can get for pretty cheap, no motor though. So the temp. plan is to put the rc 44 w/ WH 5.5's, pivots and ext. rad. arms under the hi-boy, sell the std. cut 44. Cut the frame, back half it w/ tube so the wheelbase will be about 110", make a tube bed and front fenders along with an internal and exo cage.

So basically in the near future I'll have a 31 spline 9" w/Detroit and 4.56 to sell along with an under 20K mile C6 w/ RV shift kit,
Also I'll have a divorced 205 for sale and the wheels and tires on the smashed rig right now.

Hopefully all this will come close to paying for the 60 buildup for the rear, about 120' of 2" tube, and a healthy 460 for the hi-boy.
I'll probably sell the bumpers off the black truck and maybe the nerfies for really cheap too

So if any of you ford guys want dibs on this stuff before I put it in the for sale section let me know.

Dude you're a lucky mother fucker...

I had a friend killed in january from a truck that rolled down a canyon at cow mtn. he was riding in the back and thrown out only to have his head smashed by the truck. The driver was killed and the passenger walked away. I never got to see the truck because it was air-lifted up the canyon to remove the dead driver and then taken away in the next few days before i could get up there.

when i was told a description of what the truck looked i picture a truck that looks like yours.

here's my red star at work

My 78 rolled 1.5 times @ pismo beech. I straightened the top out wiht my highlift and a sledge hammer. It has a real glass windown back in there right now amazing as it sounds.

Why not just put a new smaller body on the bronco. it is pretty good wheeler.

79f25039s that thing looks sweet.

ashmanjeep I'm gonna get a hi-boy instead of rebuilding on this frame. i got in a wreck once before and the truck was screwed since then so I started not caring about fucking it up, but I never intended to do her this bad

Danger Ranger that's terrible about your friends, I worked in Ukiah a few summers ago and went to a fire on the road to Cow Mountain... that's some steep ass country. Thanks for the use of your star

Like I've said before I really appreciate all the " you're a lucky mofo" I've been hearing, it makes me think more and more how close I came to meeting my maker.
I've always had the attitude that risk taking is not a bad thing cause you can sit on your couch your whole life in fear of getting fucked up and then have a drunk driver plow through the front of your house and kill you.

But after this my next rig is gonna be so overly safety built it will sicken the passersby with how much tubing is surrounding the cab.

I must say it has been fun ripping all the parts out of the black truck, I gotta do it fast before the po po see it and have it toweed or some anal neighbor calls.
By tommorow she'll be sitting in the street on straight frame waiting for the crusher. That'll be a sight.

Stoneyford.
Sux, fo' sho'. Damn glad no one was injured seriously. I agree
with others here. Scrap what's left of the sheet metal and find
a workable body for it. Perfect time for cage building. Here's to
a future of safer wheelin'.
