So the wiring starts on the buggy.....My question is...Is there anything from the stock dash that i need to worry about putting back in?

Such as an idiot light for the Alternator or that kind of stuff??

Im not using any of my dash.....I have all new guages, I am using LED's for the brake fluid light and the 4 wheel drive light.....Other than that...everything will be hard wired in such as a push button starter.

Any help is appreciated!

do you wheel very much at night?
A L.E.D. when in 4x4 may be annoying if it's in your line of sight?

Iwas being retarded and drove my sammy without anything hooked up, completely gutted, no spedo no nothing and i ran like shit, ( i forgot to plug the computer back in )

my passangers complained cuz they kept hitting thier knees on th piece of metal that braces the glove box

The only thing that the EFI motor "needs" from the dash is the speed sensor input. However, as you said, it doesn´t seem to be absolutely necessary. I also ran without one for around two months when my speedo cable broke and, other than the check engine light being constantly lit up and annoying, I noticed no problems.

Now, with that being said, I´m in the process of a 1.6 16 valve swap and I intend to use the factory cluster specifically BECAUSE of the VSS.......

I want to tie the rear tubing into the front better so I think the entire front end will get replaced and I am leaning towards gutting the dash at the same time. I plan on using the Kick instrument cluster.

I was told you would be running on limp mode without the vss.......:D I know my carbed 1.6 ran noticeabley stronger and cleaner when I swapped in a good ecm and carb

I am able to run at 70-75 MPH down the freeway all day long with the 37's.....no vss...

i don't exactly have a sammi of any sort's to even start from dude.. remember i made my own frame and all :D i know the VSS isn't required and Dan has a part number for a VSS off of some mid 80's chrysler that tricks teh computer :D, now if he's still got it availiable is another story, i just know he had it ;) as far as my harness, gutted to the bare minumum, 5 wires :D and i didn't do it, so i know nothing :D

Well good luck dave.....I found out from brent at TT the only thing that needs to be hooked up is the wire from the Alt needs to be on when the vehicle is in run position with what ever ignition switch you may have.

Sounds pretty damn easy to me!!

That and ignition power to the ECU.
Ill call Dan today...

Hey, HSC in sac. has almost any LED you could ever need, from blinding to almost invisible...even I.R.
On my car im going to be using a green/red one to show how much airs in the tank. Works off a pressure switch, when pressures good LED's a light green when bad it's red, need to refill.

Just a thought...
