If you're coming from westbound on 1-10, Exit at "CA-62E/ Twenty Nine Palms" toward 29 Palms/Yucca Valley.

You'll go through the town of Yucca Valley, then Turn Left onto Hwy 247 Old Woman Springs Rd. (There's a Kragen auto parts near the corner)

Go ~25 miles and turn right onto dirt road marked with orange + brown "Johnson Valley OHV area" sign. If you get to Lucerne valley you've gone too far.

Then follow the sandy road towards the dry lakebed and look for all the ugly toyotas and a few campers and trailers.

11-18-2002, 11:49 AM
Then of course you may not be coming from the I-10.

On 247, you'll go through Landers. There's a long downhill with a left sweeper after Landers, right after you get in to the sweeper, look for "Last Chance" or "Last Mile" road, it's something like that. That's the braking point because you're about a 150 yards from the right turn. The BLM sign is on the left side of the road.

That's not really funny at all. The first time I went to JV I went all the way to Lucerne before I realized I fawked up. So it's not real easy to find. :flipoff2: But then again, we dont' need millions of people out there anyway right?

BTW: Todd, you'd be proud to know that when I mentioned "look for all the ugly toyotas..." yours was the first to come to mind. :flipoff2:

Nope, there are no sand dunes, no wide open dirt roads and no huge dry lakebed, no bomb crators, no fun. No wonder the General Lee was such a failure. ;)

In other words, it's not similar to Barstow in any way. :flipoff2:

hint: The above should be read as sarcasm.

I've seen the front fenders and they're held on by 4 - 5 bolts
each. Should take less than 5 mins to get both of them off.

(not a 5min. wonder I understand, --but-----------) I can't believe this. The only complaint I've ever had was about the size of the wood, nothing about how long it lasts!! Hell, my wood lasts ten times longer then you Ridgecrest Benders. We go to the Hammers, I got enough wood to go around, I come up to the original home of Benderville and we have to send a wannabe's wife to Albertson's to get wood for all of you Ridgecrest Benders :D :D Like I said, Bite me :flipoff2: :flipoff2:
