When I take my foot off my clutch pedal I can hear a chirping noise coming from my bell housing, but as soon as I put my foot foot back on the pedal it goes silent. Is this a sign of a bad throw out bearing? It ticks me off cause in the morning I like to start my truck and then go back inside my house while it warms up, but any time that my foot isn't putting slight pressure on the pedal it just chirps away and makes alot of racket. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

first thought when i saw chirping clutch was throwut bearing....although mine growled when bad in my old truck....is it possible that there is a pilot bearing or some sort of bushing in there thats bad instead? i always thought the throwout bearing was bad when you could here it while the pedal was depressed?

Throwout bearing. The chirping is it starting to go out. Wait long enough and you'll get the growling noise UP_ROKTOY talked about. The bearings dry now, run it long enough and it will grind itself up and start growling.
