Has anyone seen these, or happen to own one. I've seen a couple on Expedition Portal but maybe its too new to have many reports. Thoughts, opinions? Roughest road I would take it down would be state forest access roads here in the southeast.

Neat idea, but for $4000 I'll spend my money elsewere. Its only a 2k gvwr'd trailer and with the tent and trailer its 880lbs.

They used to have them at the local Gander mtn. Nice build and quality, however very pricey.

I have a Lifetime Tent Trailer which I bought new from Costco for $3000 delivered. It arrives broken down in a pallet, so plan to put a few hours into assembling it. Assembly is easy though, because the instructions are very well thought out, the engineering is impressive, and build quality is better than I ever would have expected it to be.

Think of it as a Jumping Jack 2.0 which addresses the main complaint of the Jumping Jack (too big for towing down "real" trails) while improving many aspects of it (much larger when opened up into "tent mode" for example). Its smaller size means it'll only fit 1 quad instead of 2, but that's a nonissue for me.

My uses are towing it on mild to moderate trails (such as Barney Riley or Deer Valley) and/or leaving it set up at base camp (like Hollister, Niagara Rim, Pismo, etc.) and heading out to do some more hardcore 'wheeling. For towing behind my rockcrawler Geo Tracker, I put oversize tires on it. For towing behind my car, I leave the factory wheels and tires on it.

It's light enough that my small vehicles tow it without a problem, it's big enough to carry everything I could ever need while camping plus the kitchen sink, and it's small enough to fit on any desert trail and most forest trails. It's very easy to modify to be able to drag it on nasty trails behind bigger vehicles, and if you want a 3500 or 5000 pound axle, just bolt one up.

Think of it like this: it's the next size up from a "jeep trailer" with a rooftop tent on it (which was my original plan) but instead of struggling to sleep 2 people like a RTT, I have plenty of room to comfortably sleep 4 people (6 in a pinch), plus have room to stand up and get dressed, set up a folding table to eat or play cards, sit down on a portable RV crapper, or do just about anything else I could dream up. It also converts into a very useful cargo trailer, which I use to move furniture, haul firewood, or make dump runs.

At $4000, it would have been a harder decision to buy it. But at $3000, I didn't hesitate, and I have had no second thoughts. It's a great little trailer.

Towards the ugly campers? I wouldnt pay 3500$ for that tent trailer but I'd be more likely to buy the tent trailer for 3500$ than one of those.

I don't have a truck to put a camper in, and I am pulling it with a bone stock WJ and maybe a Forester.

I think they look pretty cool, and could be very functional with some upgrades. My main complaint would be that the tent is below the loading area. So dependent on what you take, you have to offload the whole trailer to open the tent.

I'd much prefer it to be more of a RTT style...but I know that is difficult, and having the dropped center section is very nice for standing up and all. Just some concern, and thinking outloud.

FYI, I've hauled the tent on top with gear in the bottom. You still need to pull the gear out before you can set up the tent, but keeping it in Rubbermaid Action Packers makes it quick and easy.
