i ran a search for a thread that i swear i read on this board but no luck.

what i need to know is what do each of the shift rails in a FSJ Dana 20 transfer case control. is one front and rear while the other is low and high? i did find a diagram on sierrajeep.com that shows the twin stick configurations for a dana 300 and a couple of guys thought it was the same for the d20. can anyone confirm this for sure? my dana 20 is from an old wagoneer, it has the "U" shaped shift pattern and i have a twin stick set up fabbed i just need to figure out what the lever positions are for the different gears (high, low, 2wheel, 4 wheel, front only) and i would rather not find out the hard way
:nuke: :nuke: :nuke:

Thanks for any info

if its on the bench or installd but doesnt have d-shafts hooked up it ought to be easy to tell by watching the outputs..

Jeepsters use the same transfercase, and a few guys at off-road.com have put twin sticks on their Jeepsters. From what I can tell, everyone seems to have a problem keeping the shifters from popping out of 2 hi...... I think most of them just use a bungee cord to hold the lever in place

I don't know what differences are between the FSJ d20 and the scout and bronco cases, but the Jeepster and FSJ cases are the same behind the th400....

I have heard that you can get the front and back in the differant ranges if you aren't careful and mess up the T case.

Yes you can.

The differene from a cj d20 and the d20 in most(all that I have seen) are the shift rail. They are longer and that a fsj d20 does not have a inter lock pill in it. So if you take off the stock shift box you can move the each shift rail by it self from H to N to L.

If you are sitting in your jeep the rail closes to you controls the rear alxe and the other controls the front axle. I have make twin stick and still make them for people. They will let you get 2wd H/L and Fwd H/L and 4wd H/L. I like haveing it there have been a few time that it was nice to use fwd to 'Pull the front around'.
