Hi All,

I need to find what emission standards my Tracker engine passes. I swapped it to my SJ413 and I'm not allowed to go trough annual vehicle inspection before I have OFFICIAL information about emissions
It need to be specifyed exactly for my motor's vin number (or tracker frame vin number)
I will get those numbers this evening when I go back to garage.

Tracker was late 1993 model (or early 1994) and motor was carburated (mikuni).

Does anyone have contact information to Chervolet Geo factory (www, e-mail, phone#... Is Geo factory still running:confused: )
Or is it possible to find out that information from internet somewhere???

Does that kind of information find out from Alldata or some other technical service bulletins or something?

PLEASE all help is necessary and I will appreciate it very much.

We don't have importer for Geo here at Finland. Tracker where I got that motor was wrecked at Russia and it's impossible to find out this information from there.

BR, Lasse

Woah there TessaL,

Geo's of that year were NEVER carbeurated. They had throttle-body fuel injection on the 8-valve 1.6L, and multipoint fuel injection on the 16-valve 1.6L. At least, not in the US. Not sure if Geo's were sold in Canada with a carb. You should be able to find out more about the motor's original configuration from the VIN of the donor vehicle, but it sounds like somebody put a 1.3L Samurai intake manifold on your 1.6L engine.

Yeah, I know that Tracker was newer sold with carb at US but for rest of the world there has been carbs.
Here is some pics of it. It's sure original as car was only 45Kkm and pipes and nuts were untouched when it come to me but could this be TBI? I have supposed this to be carb?

Well, DUH! Canada is where Geo's are built (CAMI). Until this, I never knew that GEO's were exported from North America, as Suzuki also has manufacturing facilities in Spain or Portugal (?) as well as Japan, and I would have expected to see one of those in Scandinavia, rather than a Canadian built GEO.

This is from the CAMI site:

We build the Chevrolet Tracker and Suzuki Vitara for the North American market. We also build the two-door four-cylinder version of the Grand Vitara, which we export to 26 countries around the globe.
