he guys i just swapped a 2002 tj nv3550 with 90000 into my 91 xj replacing the 375000 mile aw-4. except the transmission everything i used in the swap was brand new. it works great drives great and shifts great but makes a funny noise. when i fully press the clutch pedal in it goes away. im thinking a throw out bearing problem. any ideas? thanks

Try installing a couple "6 speed" decals on your fenders and hatch and where ear plugs:flipoff2:you'll be fine. cough bacon cough couch

Did you research and use the correct pilot bearing?

I am glad you posted. I was just messen with you man. I think its a bad ass setup having a 6 speed manual in the XJ. I have thought about switching out my AW4 quite a bit. How was it sourcing all the pedal and clutch parts? Were they pretty much bolt in or did they require some extra work?

its cool dude just a lot of people on here bullshit it gets anyoing sometimes.

but yea this is what i had to get for the swap

02 tj slave, flexplate, clutch, flexplate bolts, throw out bearing, nv3550
91 xj clutch master cylinder
advance adapters hydralic line and np231 shifter adapter
00 xj tnv3550 tranny mount
xj clutch pedal assembly
b&m short shitfer
3 quarts of royal purple sycro
i have a rough country 6.5 long arm kit so the cross member is universal
nissan hard body shifter boot
had to cut some of the floor cuz of the shifter location
and of course a gernade shift knob is a must

it was kind of a bitch but it only took me like 10-15 hours

its awesome it drives great but everything is louder haha

but it sounds like from what i have read it is going to be loud

but i think its awesome mainly cuz of the fact of how you can put a 2002 transmission in a 1991 xj 11 years difference haha and it drives great beter than my 375000 mile aw4

but let me know if you know it is loud cuz its loud haha
