http://dscno224Finally made head way on my Box of rocks & 300 home flip for my 95 XJ. I bought used aircraft quality morse cables from a aircraft surplus. The cables come with greasable zert fittings on each end. Got all three for $28.00 great deal. Made the shifter box to fit in stock location and works like a charm. I'm going to rebend shifter shafts for the front axle straight up, reduction box to the right and the rear shifter further right. I don't want my leg bumping up on the shifter off road. The flip kits were too much cost for my blood so I made mine w/ 1x3/4 aluminum stock drilled them bolted them up and tac heliarced them in place so they woud not distort pulled them off and heliarc them slowly. Played with different ways on the shifter denton balls as well as the shift rails and finally found a spot were I was comfortable with their shift. Total cost of flip with cables, and sight tube was about $75.00. I got lucky and clocked the whole set up right on the money the 1st time. Cut back the floor board 4" and making the trans cross member as we speak. I will be pulling out the 9" w/ 44 outers front axle off my V8 powered 85 XJ and putting them in my 95 with the 9" rear. Once I am done with that I will proceed to tear apart my 85 XJ and tube it, tub it and rock slider it for the serious stuff. I plan on putting in a whole new drive train V8 auto OD rebuild and gear the Dana 20 and full width 60's front and rear for my son to drive.

If you want people to reply with something helpful try using punctuation and spacing. My head hurt after the second line I quit reading.

Seams to be a room full of scholars in this thread so I'll bow out. I write fast because my mind goes a mile a minute and it's time consuming to do so, so excuse the lack of punctuation, abreviations and quotations! I'll think about listing any thing with much more preperations for the scholars!

Thanks for the idea on the morse cables. Are you sure you want to use an '85 though? My second cherokee was an '86 and I think using one with a 4.0 would be easier.

I have 2 the one I'm working on w/ the crawl box and shifter is a 95(green). The one I did back in 1992 was my 85(red). The 85(red) is the one I'm stealing the narrowed Bronco front axle with outer Dana 44 knuckles and 9" center section. I am going to REbuild the 85 (red) in the future with a new 302 C4 or auto overdrive and the Dana 20 t-case that is allready in it. I will also be adding Dana 60's front and rear and possibly tube the rear for triangulated 3 link. I just want to get back into it so I'm doing the 95 less time needed to set it up to wheel it.
