i picked up a 2wd Ford T-18 to put behind my early 302 that resides in my 66 kaiser CJ5. my original plan was to buy the adapters and mainshaft so i could mate the jeep dana-18 transcase to the ford T-18. well, this is like 450 bucks in parts alone.
now i am thinking i will just find a Ford case to bolt to the 2wd t-18. well, the 2wd tranny of course has the long tailshaft. what modifications and/or parts would i need to do/get to make this tranny bolt up to a ford transcase?

also, what case would make this process the easiest? i am trying to avoid the np203, and np205 like the plague because of the crappy low range.

any help in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.
