I want to drain mine cause I suspect the mix of antifreeze is not real good... infact it may be just water.. I dont want a frozen block... that would be bad news
sooooooo.. anyone know best way to do a complete draing (if neccissary) before refill.
Granted my Mog is little different animal than most since it has the 3.0 TD in it so maybe no one in this list knows.
Thanks in Adv. for any help.

Your truck can't be that hard. An engine is an engine, a cooling system is a cooling system. Look for "petcocks" on the lower part of the engine and on the coolant lines.
On a normal 404.1 there is a bolt at the lowest part of the radiator on the coolent line. And on the drivers side of the engine there is a petcock just above the oilpan.
If that doesn't do the trick for you get on a Mercedes Diesel mailing list and see if there is any tricks your engine may have built in.
Do you have a manual for a normal 404.1 and for your engine?
Later.

its cold as shiat out side and its Wet and sleety. I asked the questions so I went into this armed. I found the bolt you speak of. started to drain and saw very nice looking antifreeze colored fluid comming out so I plugged it back up
Im not real worried now. Least I know its not water and the block wont freeze.
Now im trying to tarp it nicel for the winter.
well Im as warm as Im going to get so its back outside to finish the tarp job.
