What do you guys think of running a 2.5 x 10" double end ram on 404's I dont see where psc make a 9" are guys cutting down a 10" or just leaving it long?

you can build a spacer that goes inside the ram to limit its travel. I helped my buddy do this with his tacoma double ended ram as it was a inch to much throw.

I used a tie rod style cylinder and just cut down the casing but a spacer or spacers is probably simpler and just as effective. If I were going to build a spacer I would make it part of the link connector or clevis you will be adding to each end of the rod. Basically give your end links deep throats and large flat mating surfaces so the stress is taken by the outer part of the gland, away from the seal.

while doing externaly seems like a good idea to limit stress on the end caps. Industry standard for limiting stroke is internally. bazillions of cylinders in the world are limited internally.

externally limited makes it possible for your spacer to jam crud thru the seals at full lock.
