I have a 1974 ford f-110 with a 3 bolt steering gearbox. I was wondering if anyone in the reno area might have one that is available. I've never had to change one out so I dont know too much about them. It's mounted on the outside of the frame. If anyone has one let me know and what you want for it. Thanks.

I just bought the truck about two months ago. Been working on it off and on. Went to get it smoged and the truck was all over the road. We tried to adjust the gear box and it made it a little better. The truck wanders really bad. Everything looks tight. I was told the gear box is probaly shot.

If the box has excessive lash that cant be adjusted out then its probably bad. Also look at the TRE's, balljoints, steering shaft joints, radius arm bushings and track bar bushings.

All the ball joints ect. look good. I had my brother-in-law barely turn the steering back and forth while I watched then a little harder back and forth and everything looked good to go, no slop. Are all the 3 bolt gearboxes from73-79 the same?
