How much are you supposed to torque down the steering arm nuts, and spring plate nuts? I have a 1980 K-5 and I'm putting a raised steering arm on and new springs. I would just hoss em down until I can't turn em anymore like I do everything else, but the steering arm is pretty important to have right, to me.
Thanks,

From what I've heard and read a good torque value for u bolts is @ 125 ft lbs. Thats what I have all of mine torqued to and have had not problems in the last 3 years or so. In regards to steering arms I honestly have no clue.

good luck

If the u-bolts are 5/8 125 is okay, If you are talking about the 3 studs on the knuckle 100 to 110 would do the trick I always run em down with the impact myself. Pittman arm nut on a 2wd box 180- bolt thru a 4wd box 100-110.

Yeah, the studs on the knuckle that hold the steering arm are the ones I speak of. Thanks for the info.
After doing some searching, I found a bunch of bowtie owners complaining about getting those arms off. Hopefully mine comes right off :D If not, the shop I'm working on it at, has an arsonal of tools, blue tips, and nuematic.
