I have a 2001 model I believe it is, I bought it new.... Just starting to get back into mountain biking and was wondering a good site to order upgrade parts from for the bike. Wanting to go to disk brakes etc and just don't know where to start looking!

Depending on how the bike is currently configured with respect to disc brake mounting points on the frame and fork it may be cheaper and easier to look into upgrading to a new bike with disc brakes.

I would venture to guess that at a minimum you would need a new set of wheels with disc brake hubs and a set of brakes and it is possible your fork may not have the required mounting points to accommodate a disc brake caliper. If all of this is true then purchasing something that is all set up makes much more financial sense.

Ahh I see, yea probably wouldn't be cost effective, and see as I don't have the money for a new bike.. I'll just run what I have!! But, will probably pick up a mag anywho! Thanks!

I upgraded my old Diamondback Response Sport (1996 vintage:grinpimp:) for about $350 with parts from Performance Bike (http://www.performancebike.com/bikes/TopCategories_10052_10551_-1) and eBay. The frame was still in good shape, so I got a new fork, new v-brakes, new crankset, new cassette, new headset, stem, and bars. Pulled hubs apart, cleaned and greased the bearings, and put it all back together. Felt and rode like a new bike.
