I have seen people just use a second set of rear spring, front eye mounts just bolted/welded in place of the stock ones. I had the Offroad Design set-up and it was pretty slick. I'm pretty sure if you went to their site you would find pics.

Search, but when you do, try spelling it 'shackle' :flipoff2:

Here's one way to do it...

I have a 75 blaz that I am Building and I have a parts truck that was free so I am going to take the front section of the rear spring assembly and have a free shackle reverse it will only take some new hardware.

That's been a topic of discussion for years. I've heard of plenty of people running for several years without trouble. I plan on cutting some tube in half and tieing it in across the top to strengthen it a bit, but based on people I know that have been doing it this way, it's not really neccesary.

Now, if you want a trick way to gain a ton of flex, check out Marv's setup!

mine makes it to and from skool 3x a week. Took Mrs. zakk to skool today. they are one in the same.

Even with the ORD flip you can't tow, and the F-150 springs are softer than any 52" chevy spring.

Spend the money and go with one of the flips from ORD.

I did, and it was one of the easiest swaps I did, very clean and I am happy with the results.
Less then 200 bucks and you don't have to alter anything on your trucks chasis to make it work.

Why can't you tow with an ORD flip? We don't have any problems with it as long as the truck is set up to tow. Super soft spring, "C" range tires, crappy trailers, soft shocks with loads of leverage against them, etc. will cause you some problems but the shackle flip itself is not a problem.

And, they're on sale this month.

I tow with mine all the time.
I am running the stock springs though with the shackle flip.
maybe if you have the soft springs it might be a problem, but I have had no trouble at all.

I tow a 10,000Lbs trailer with my flip with 52" springs, not a problem. blew the end pinion bearing clean off doing 70 M/ph up hill, but still made it home. Gotta love the 14" :flipoff2:

I am not running the Springer Suspension but, if I am not mistaken, they are using 57" Ford Springs.

You can also use these springs with the ORD flips. I have the ORD flip and am using the 57" springs, you just have to switch sides for the brackets and re-locate them back about one-and-a-half to two inches.

These bolt on the bottom of the hanger you get about 5 1/4"s of lift. There made of 3/8"s plate plenty strong and work great Echobit & gravity fab works (http://www.echobit.com/) sent me plans that I sorta used they sell them on there site they are a little different than these but bolt on just as easy.

yeah, Marv tows with his set-up too, but its not recomended.

Do you endorse the use of the ORD SHackle flip in towing applications, Dr. Watson? I have always ready that is can be done, but you never endorsed it, to the best of my knowledge.

Been running my own shackle flip on the wifes 3/4 ton burb with 2" blocks and pulled Yeller with 1200#'s of tongue weight, I know that is a lot but it the truck and trailer like it, with no trouble at all lots of cross country pulls.
