for those who did know what you were talking about like me

that race aint no joke

This is it. The race of all races. 100 miles across the high-altitude, extreme terrain of the Colorado Rockies. Created for only the most determined athletes. Starting at 9,000 feet and climbing to 13,000 feet, you’ll be challenged to catch your breath — while the views try to take it away.

**Racers who have completed the on-line medical check-in still need to attend the Mandatory Medical Check-In for an expedited medical bracelet pick-up. **

I watched the movie on it and immediately wanted to try it. Hope I get a chance to someday.

He had wanted to do Leadville and was always trying to talk me into doing it with him.
After we watched the movie, I said, "Cool, let's do it", to which he replied, "Naaa, I don't think so." :D

And anyone who thinks "eh Armstrong is only good because he has a team to pull him in the tour" needs to watch it. The guy is a beast on pedals.

Even more amazing to me was last year when Levi took it (and the record) mostly unassisted.

Congrats on getting into LT100. Good luck with it.

I did the Tahoe-Sierra 100 last year. I was third in my division. That was tough. It was the first time I had actually pushed myself for too long. About two miles from the finish, I was puking on the side of the trail:barf:
My prep work was many long days stashed away in dark spin class rooms for
4-6 hours at a time as well as 60 - 80 mile mtn bike rides on the race course.
My longest ride during training was 115 miles on my geared HT. It was a mix of 70 miles of road, 45 miles of ST.
Nutrition is key. Don't go for too much space food. Whole food is your friend.
I have not tried this stuff myself, but a lot of my friends like Infinite Nutrition (http://www.infinitnutrition.us/) for endurance racing.
This year is only 92 miles, but over 20,000ft of climbing, lots of techy singletrack, and it is in August, which means a lot of heat.
