That's the rumor. At the rate of competitions currently, it won't be long before the competitors have tried all the hard lines at our natural resources wether its in practice or full on competition. So Man made enhancements may well be what is in our future.
Oh and your welcome!:D
desertCJ 11-18-2002, 11:13 PM I'm sure that it was a difficult course, but personally I think man made courses are pretty :rainbow: it won't be long before the competitors have tried all the hard lines at our natural resources So what, every nascar driver has been around the same track a time or two....doesn't mean they don't get better or that conditions don't change:rolleyes: I don't compete in any series so it doesn't really affect me much. But I seriously doubt that we are gonna exhaust EVERY new line in our whole country! Come awn
Edit: Camo.. Nevada has some nice rocks, I drove through most of the state a few months back and I was drooling;)

Not to mention that mother nature is going to continue to adjust those lines. :roxy:

I agree, but there is also a spectator factor that must be factored in. Add safety for them into the equation as well as quality viewing to keep them coming back. Its a hard one to balance. Many of Ma Natures best trails aren't necessarily going to allow access of several thousand spectators, or like Supercrawl 15,000! If purses are to go up then the number of spectators must go up and subsequently sponsorship increases.
Don't get me wrong. I want to keep them in the great outdoors. I don't ever want to see it turn into a "monster truck arena" show. But I fear that is where it is going.:)

Yes, they have dogs, but not all series will allow them in.

Not for a Bob Hazel poo rock event

Yeah that was a very sad showing. Certainly the fewest I had EVER seen at an event.
Hopefully the necessary steps will be taken to correct what has lead to this and make the series viable again. Don't know if that is possible with the damage that appears to have been done but it CAN happen. :)

He screwed up bad in Attica just like he did there. Many people have sworn off his events and the only way he'll get them back is to guarantee big money in writing, start paying it out, and some might reconsider. Otherwise stick a fork in poo rock
MNBen 11-19-2002, 09:37 AM Man-made stadiums help out with the tree huggers. They don't see oil and broken parts strewn about "their" wilderness. It will also allow for more competitions, in places there never was before. You could have a nasty rock crawling course in Nebraska for instance, where I think they have 1 tree and it is next to the two rocks in the entire state. There is a definate place for man-made stadium events. They can make some pretty elaborate and natural looking rock now out of different concretes ect. Go to your local zoo and check out some of the habitats that are man-made. Plus they can change up the lines and difficulty between events, too keep the competitors on their toes.
Ben
Go2Guy 11-19-2002, 12:28 PM of most all the competitors I talked too.
bob has his work to do to bail himself out but ....
The manmade courses were very technical, changing, challenging, tough on spotters (Even would have worn out Bigdude):D Many of the courses were either completed by a few or none of the competitors. made for lots of lead changes and opportunity to stay in the hunt. it was tough on the cars too. This is true rockcrawling vs picking goofy lines on huge rock slabs- don't get me wrong, I like them both, but this requires so much of the right line, good clearance, a smooth chassi to slide over stuff, not at all like Farmington or Cedar city.
This place had decent potential, for a lot of reasons already stated. I liked the the extend a boom fork truck that picked me up when i turtled, was an extraction that was kind on the rest of the car. I think Smalltimewheeler used it to when he ripped a knuckle of his rear 60.
My .02:D
smalltimewheeler 11-19-2002, 03:22 PM I agree with ken on that, it had alot of potential and they are talking about concreting alot of the rocks place. That forklift was away cool.
I want to say i do competition for the love of the game, but what drives me to do so well is i cant afford to get to the next event without any winnings. I have absolutely no money sponsors to help me out, so if i get a bad call it really pisses me off cause no one understands what it really takes to get out there for top 3 finish. I love this sport and everyone i compete with, thats what drives me so hard to do well, to have the funds for the next event.
