Got into a saginaw PS conversion, then got the truck and found out it had add-on AC, which kinda put a cramp in my normal pump mounting procedure.
This is a pump off of an early 90's GM FWD uses an external resevoir.

I'd leave that configuration the way it is & go with a Scout ps conversion. I'm currently working on my 55 with a york, but I have my alt. mounted low & will have the same setup as shown. You won't need to butcher the frame ala conventional Saginaw setup. It *looks like the york will clear the Scout box anyway :rasta:

That's why you needed the PS hose adapter.. Cool...

What are you going to run for a resevior???

I keep thinking of doing a remote system for the additional capacity...

I picked up a large one off of a late model Crown Vic. I'll post more pix later, we just fired it up and bled it out, turns sweet!~!!!!

Sweet, so the main unit is just like a standard GM PS pump? Then The Lakerat's mods will work on it as well correct?

As far as I know it is the same pump..... except in has no provisions for bolting the resevoir on, the fittings in the back of the hose adapter look just like the ones I have done LakeRats mods on, I did not do them on this truck, cause it's a kid's DD with 33's.
My local wrecking yard has tons of them, with a variety of different brackets and pulleys, most have serpentine pulleys, but the v type will fit right on.
The pulley I used on this was off an 85 Ford Van, it had the wider 7/16" groove.

You need to get a Saginaw pump that has the reservoir clocked at a different angle, If I am not mistaken, I use one that I get with the res. from NAPA, and the OEM application is an 85 302 Ford E150 (van).......trot down to the local parts store or the pick n pull and check this pump out.

The thing is, it does sit upright....just like it's supposed to, with the filler cap on top, until I start it up and the belt pulls it down to the horizontal position. Thats the weird part. No matter how tight everything is (and I have checked) I can't get it to stay upright. But if I can't solve this, looks like it time ot head to the parts store.
