I'm having issue with my toy alternator, 22re 87' wih internal regulator (I think). I just fired her up for the first time.:smokin: Fuel pump was hall'en ass, so I checked volts and 18 to 19v at the fuse box.

Does charge light on the 7.5 amp fuse need to be hooked up for it to work right?
Any ideas out there, I'm not ready to swap nators yet. I wana get some sun on this thing.

Yes, and it needs the resistive load of the charge light--or a similar resistance resistor.

Alright, good to know. I'll start looking for info on that. I have been searching and searching and seem to find the same stuff. one wire this, three wire gm that, nothing for toy stuff. A winch is a ways away. I have no doner rig to steal parts from, so factor nator will work if I can get it to work!

Anyone know the bulb size or a resistor I can use.

No guess on bulb size. Dustin just used a small lighted rocker switch on mine!! :laughing:

I installed the Toyota-GM Alternator bracket and picked up a single wire 100 amp alternator from summit.

These guys are in Utah so you dont have to pay CA sales tax.

Hey, thanks for the links. I'll go with that. Less wires is alway a good thing for me.

For now, I added a diode (thanks Marlin Crawler) to the signal wire on the toy nator and it works great. When I put a winch on and take apart to paint i will add a better alt.
