I had one on my 85 F-250 w/460. Maybe not the exact same carb, but it was a spread bore Q-jet style. The carb came on the 73 460 from a car that I put in the truck. The only problem I had with mine was that the acc pump was not working that great. So I took it apart and fixed it up alittle. After that it still never worked quite right just off idle. But it did work like a q-jet offroad. It run at any angle. But since I used the truck mainly as a work truck, I threw the stock Holley 4bbl on it. And it ran alot better.

From what I messed around with, the holleys just seam to run better on a Ford engine. Only down fall is getting them to idle off camber, but we all know how that works.

They are good all around general carbs, no Holley for performance though.:D

Any idea of the CFM range on those? I just got one from a buddy (free), and thought it might be a bit better than the Carter with a busted housing I have now. The Carter is 400 CFM...

I want to say they are 600 CFM

So it may be a bit of overkill on a 200 hp 171 cid, then, eh?:D

I'll probably try it anyway, just for sh*ts & giggles....
