Hopefully the pics work. Originally bought a Ford Bronco II as a project but recently found out I have need for four doors. This one came up, $1700 later it was mine.
Now I just have to clear out the Explorer parts I bought to beef up the B2.

Looks like a pretty solid rig for the money.
How about some picks of it in the dirt?:D
What's your plans for it?

Nice find. I would have picked one up for that price too.

Haven't had it off the pavement yet. It needs a couple minor mechanical things. Tie rod end on the right side has a split boot. Strange noise coming from the clutch pedal area. Nothing major assuming it passes smog. I will replace all the wheel studs and lug nuts when I do new wheels and tires. The Isuzu studs are crap.
It still has a fair amount of tread on the tires but they are street tires so those will have to go before I do anything off road. Will also need to replace the front hubs with some manual ones but the auto units are ok for now.
Plans so far include an aussie locker front and rear, slight lift for larger tires and a build for more expedition/overland travel usage. First it will just be a camping rig until the baby gets older. Then we will be more adventurous.

also congrats on the soon to be new addition to the family ( assuming that by meaning you needed a 4 door --baby on the way)

New shocks have been ordered. Will 31s fit on the factory 15x6 alloys that are on it or do I need different wheels? Also ordered the heavy duty tie rods from Independent4x.
Mechanical work done thus far was a new catalytic converter. Old one was plugged and causing the motor to fail smog. Also had a pretty nasty oil leak from the left valve cover that caused a good amount of smoke. Did both left and right valve cover gaskets while I had the thing apart as well as a basic tune up (plugs, wires, filters, etc) and a can of Rislone to try and quiet the valvetrain tick that all these motors seem to suffer from. It shut it up a little bit but we'll see what else needs doing. Right now it passed smog with flying colors and is serving as a much more comfy daily driver. The value of working A/C can not be understated in a Las Vegas summer.
I have a set of Explorer rear shackles that should give me roughly an inch of lift and will bolt right up with some spacers for the narrower Isuzu springs. Whats the word on longer leaf springs for these trucks? Any easy swaps or is it more trouble than it is worth?
and yes, the new addition is a baby boy due end of August - first week in Sept. :D

I was more concerned about stuffing a 10.5" wide tire on a 6" wide wheel.

check your specs on the rims ..cause i think stock is 15x7's and a 10.50 will fit.
these are 31x10.50's on stock isuzu rims

yup. 15x6. If memory serves, I will need a wider wheel to properly fit that tire. Probably get away with 30-9.50-15 though.

the factory 16" wheels were 7" wide, but the base steel 15" wheels were only 6" wide. The factory always used 7" wide rims with the 10.5" wide tires, so that would be best, but I have run 31 10.50's on 6" rims in the past with no trouble.
