For those of you who have converted your Rover to a diesel powerplant, whether you did the conversion or had another shop do the conversion, how do you go about emissions?

I've been searching the net to no avail...can't find anything regarding Nevada's law on inspection after the engine swap or changes in emission standards, etc.

So, what's the deal? Some of you not have smog laws in your states? Or do you have a "friend" who will give you a passing smog check with the wink of an eye?

All of the ones I know of are old enough to be exempt from emissions.

Indiana has no smog inspections or laws, you could drive something that ran on condor feathers and coal if you wanted. However, many states that have emissions laws exempt vehicles that are 25 yrs or older, and diesel vehicles have to meet different requirements than gasoline vehicles . . . . I would make some phone calls to see what your state wants though.

The 2 people I know of who have done this in Colorado are exempt. Colorado can test Diesels, but not Diesels that are AWD. At least that is what they told me.
