The traveler and terra came out in 76, to pick up some of the slack when they killed the full size line.

Wheelbase is 18 inches more, and Hayraker has the sweetest resto-rig I've ever seen. :flipoff2: You need to enter that thing in the ultra-stock competition at the Scout Nationals some year.

i purchased a Traveler for 200$ A 76 or 77 and It was A POS While towing it home it decided to start it self up trasveling 15 mph and then the tranny decided to go from drive back t opark:eek: Finally got it shut down by completely removing the battery almost like a scene out of Maximum overdrive:mad: I got even though and stripped it of every last bolt

Let me get this right?

You were towing it at 15mph and it started by itself?

You were towing it with the tranny in drive?

The engine died when the battery was removed?

Key points not stated?

Key was in the run position?

Tranny selector moved through two detents to make it to park?

Alternator was bad?

Interesting story, it's getting deep around here...

Travelers and Terras are 18" longer that a scout2 and they where built from late 75 (sold as 76's) through 1980.

I followed jeeps and zuks on big rubber on every trail they run in Clayton at 118" wheel base with little tires and a full length body. Now I have big tires , 121" wheelbase, and not much body left and I bet I will still hang. As a matter of fact there are many spots on "jeep" trails where 118" will spank their asses:D
