Hey There! I figure I better get some mud flaps before I end up with a fix it ticket.....
But what are the California State requirement for mud flaps? I have no clue what minimum size I can get away with?
Running 39.5x15x15s & a 16" suspension lift....If that is of any importance..
Thanks!

This is what i was going to do IF i ever got problems from the local law enforcement.
go to your local truck stop and buy a set of the nice heavy rubber ones (just dont get the ones that say Mack or have crome naked ladies :flipoff2: ) then go and get some square tubing one size that will fit into another. bolt the smaller tubing to the cut to fit your rig mudflaps and bolt/weld the larger tubing to make a socket on the back of your ride. slide them in, line them up, drill some holes and put some cotter pins threw so you can easily remove them when you go to the trail:D

From what I read a while ago, the mud flap has to cover the width of the tire and at least half the height of the tire.
On my flatbed Tacoma, I just got some of that 2 foot wide rubber carpet protector crap and cut it in half and hung them from some S hooks in the back. Looks funky but I've got no tickets yet :p Also only cost me about $3 in materials.

Go down to Capitol Rubber in Sacramento. Ask for some 'scraps' to make some mud flaps for your rig. I did this and they sent me to see the guy in the back where they have all kinds of scrap stuff. What I got was some old conveyer belt material, 14" wide and about 1/4" thick. You will never wear that stuff out. It's corded like a tire and pretty heavy so it won't 'sail' in the wind. I picked up two pieces of square tube, one fits inside the other easily. Bolt the rubber flap to the smaller tube, weld the larger one to your frame and all you have to do is slip it in and pin it... This way, you can make your flaps any size you want... :D:D
