Anyone know how to get these w/o paying out the ass for 'em overseas? I wanna swap WJ knuckles onto my XJ's D30 and gain the better brakes and hysteer, and as far as I can tell, if you make up bastard shafts(WJ outers, XJ inners) then you won't need the custom spacer everyone has been using so far. Am I missing something here? Thanks :flipoff2:

I thought all WJ front D30s were CVs. The way to make the swap work is to have a machine shop switch the WJ unit bearings to 5 on 4.5

Rob, I know that WJ's have U-jointed shafts overseas, but I was wondering if they were available somewhere in the US. I'm trying to avoid keeping my 5x4.5 'cause my rear is already drilled for 5x5.5 and 5x5. Peace

WJ Outer stub axle for 760x/297x Joint = ~$105/each

If your local jeep dealer can't get them in call Larry Miller Jeep in Utah @ (801) 553-5900 and ask for Josh in the Parts department. He's the one that initially found them.

The knuckles and brakes are a HUGE upgrade, but the stub shafts are :rainbow: . I would make an adaptor to fit some warn spindles and do a hub kit with the alloy outers.....or even better buy a bigger front-end if you're running 35's or bigger.

FYI - There is a difference between the WJ stubs and TJ/XJ/ZJ stubs. The difference is in the length and how the centerline of the u-joint falls in relation to the center axis of the balljoints. The TJ stubs in a WJ knuckle will cause the u-joint to be offcenter and it will fail prematurely....trust me ;)

PM me if you want more details....I'm pretty up to speed on the WJ knuckles.

Mike, thanks for the info. 35s is as big as I'm gonna go for a LONG time, and all the WJ components are being given to me by a friend who tweaked the tubes on his WJ D30. This mod is being done on a tight budget, and if I can get away w/ using these shafts w/ XJ inners and avoid the costly spacer, then it's worth it to me. Hell, for the price of the spacers I could afford to pick up spare outers and I've already got spare inners, so making up spares shafts isn't a problem. Again, thanks for the info. Who says you can't get any good info on PBB w/o getting flamed??:flipoff2: Peace
