Been reading this board for awhile now, but never posted. I just want to say thanks for all the good ideas for Jeeps that are posted here.

I know that Pirate is mainly a rock climbing site so my pics arn't going to mean alot to some, being I'm a mudder (not alot of rock climbing here in Canada).

Once you see my pics your probably going to freak that I'm running stock axles. Been building/wheeling my Jeep for about 10 years now, and the damn things just won't break. Once I get my hands on some 1 ton's & 39.5 boggers, I should finally be happy with it.

Looking forward to talking with everyone again, take care.

Weezer, you do realise that amorall helps get the mud off after mudding right!!!:flipoff2: :p
i have to agree that there is shit for terrain up here, but i have reason to complain, CJ Shark, look where i'm located....sux, but we make do!:p
oh yeah, i love the bogger tracks too!

What kinda Horse power do you get from having that bogger track added at that angle across the hood :flipoff2: :flipoff2:

haha nice jeep, looks to clean where is a shot of it after playing in the mud.

Thanks for the comments everyone I appreciate it.

GPERX4 - Once I build the new rear bumper I'm going to add a Spare Mount. I've only had to grab the spare once and It was not fun. I put ready rod through the rack and I slide the spare down the rod through the lug holes. I'm getting way to old to fart with that thing again.

Weezer - Yeah I admit it, I'm an armorall junkie if I'm not playing with her in the mud.

Sharp - I never knew you had trails out that way, nice meeting you we should try and hook up some time. I haven't made it to RMH yet but my bro used to live there and we quaded alot in the area.....amazing country. If you ever wanna hit Maclean or Waipourus let me know.

Dozernad - Yeah, she does look alot like a pavement princess there. Hope this is better:

What size are those boggers? i'm gonna look into a set once i have the $$ too, but the ATs are on there to help me through the winter.... i'd love to wheel out there and will for sure take you up on your offer, it's just a matter of when, my TJ has grown alot since my visit to RMH so i figure with some decent meats on there i'd hold my own, the prob is i have a damn D35 under there and thats holding me back from getting boggers or TSLs. Do you know Mike (BJOTF) he's from Edmonton or Jeff Niwa (purple TJ) from lethbridge.... i wheeled with them they are both really good guys and mikes TJ is pretty mint!
anyways, i'm for sure up for coming out there, if you have time look through my site, have pics of the crap terrain we wheel in...
it's a little ironic, a buddy of mine from PEI that has a TJ asked me how the hell i managed to roll my TJ in Manitoba :p
anyways, i'll keep in touch.

Sharp the tires are 35x16 R15. I used to run 36 TSL's but I was having problems getting through some of the muskeg my buddys were going through.

Yeah we'll definatly go wheeling if you get into town. Our big weekend is the May Long weekend. Somone or something usually breaks so after that its off and on. We are mainly Mud Runners and there are alot of trails you can follow us on.

Just a note, if you ever wanna run some rock & hill trail the local Jeep club are rock addicts. www.calgaryjeep.com You should definatly look them up as well.

I have heard the D35 is lacking, just like my D30 in the CJ. I told myself once I break the 30 or 20 the 1 tons are going in.........10 years later I'm still running them. I did go 1 piece axles and detroit in the 20 so I'm thinking its going to last awhile longer.

Mike & Jeff sure sound familer, but I'm terrible with names so I'm unsre if we have met. The site looks great buddy, if you or anyone get a chance check out our site. I just got a new scanner so I'm going to dive into the 4 inch stack of pictures and make some updates.

Yeah Dozernad I like that look alot better as well.

Cheers

I have no doubt that the lack of rocks is the reason I still have my diffs. Before I hit the rocks I have got to lose the spare tire on the roof, and place it somewhere lower. The Jeep feels to top heavy to try any climbing.

Thats a sweet Jeep you have Keith, your club has some very well bult rigs.

Sniperfire I agree with you.

Stock axels on a CJ are junk, I'm running a 401 with the MSD rev limited @ 6000rpm.

I should have snapped them years ago but they keep going. I do realize that this is just spinning in mud. If I even attemped some rock climbing with high torque/high traction crawling they would snap like toothpicks. Like I said, I'm just waiting for a reason to take them out. Until they snap I'm happy using the funds for my tranny rebuild.

GPN & Keith - I should have seen that 1 coming :flipoff2:

Shark...I hear ya...we run our CJ in comps and it runs on 35 GMTs...all the shafts have been upgraded by we're just waiting for the tubes on the 20 to bend...we know its going to happen just a question of when. More power to you for making em last so long.

That gets me to another question though with those big meats, do you have any plans for some fender cutting or are you happy with just clipping the corners off on the rear wells?

Hey fo-low, good to see a fellow Calgarian around. Hows things going with you?

Sniperfire - Just checked out your website....very nice site btw, the Darksiderz have some great rigs. It's amazing how many great Jeeps visit this forum. I'm looking forward to checking everyones websites, you can never get enough ideas here.

This is going to sound like "famous last words" but I haven't trimed the fenders at all yet. I did the shackle reversal on the front and so far it has stopped the tires from getting anywhere close to the fenders.

Being a mud runner the demand for serious articulation is alot less than what a rock crawler would require.

I did have one episode where the tire impacted the fender, but that was when my drivers side leaf snapped and the axle shifted. Using the winch we centered the axle and by pure luck the leaf set itself on the frame. With the angle of the leaf it was a tight enough fit that we were able to limp our way home from Waipourus.

This gave me the excuse to go SOA and the shackle reversal, and this may explain the odd signature I'm using.
