Go to Keokis for fish tacos and Pale Ale, If you are looking for a good local market got to Ishihara grocery store. The sunsets on the seawall beside Poipu Kapilli Condos are epic every night. The tiki-bar at the hotel down the street from poipu kapilli is pretty decent on sundays. The north shore is a pretty good drive from the airport but worth it.

Im in Lihue till the 5th. If you want to grab a beer or 12 I know a couple good spots or just general tips on places to go (been cruising here for a month) There are some rad trails up Loop Road im trying to wheel as well.

Im staying in Lihue about 5 minutes from the Airport at a friends house. I know where that resort is, its nice. Probably about 20 minutes from here. Ya hit me up when you get here and we can figure something out.

I was just up at power line and its pretty gnarly, would eat up a rental.

this is Polihale, you can drive right on the beach, but please stay off of the dunes in the background. I know there are people that take quads all over the dunes, but it is very disrespectful as there are old cutural sites and burial in those dunes. I wrote about it as part of piece for wheeling in Hawaii it should be on Hawaii4x4Association website.

Wish we were there.

Be carefull when going up loop road. It could be sunny where you are, but the rain could be coming down in buckets in the swamp. The streams there can rise very fast and leave you stranded or taking a trip down stream.
Powerline is pretty nuts, probably the most nuts trail there for wheeling. Its a good hike and you could start on the princville side and make it a mostly down hill hike. The first half is kinda boring but the second half is where the fun is. If its raining in Koke'e, the dirt roads can get fun, but be carefull there too, cuz there are plenty of places to slide off the road and down a very steep hill.

Lance - get your butt to Hanalei and the north side of the Island - go to the end of the road, enjoy the beach... Then go the the west side of the Isalnd and go to the end of the road. Pretty much any end of the road and you'll be fine!!

Damn, bummer! I will be hanging out at the hotel today. Probably do a little surfing or I might give paddle boarding a shot. Drove up Waimea Canyon yesterday. Was a nice drive.

You should check out polihale beach park, its at the end of the road on the west side.
The napali coast boat tours are pretty cool too.

Did some surfing today, had a couple of mai tais. Probably do a little snorkeling later today. Not sure what we're doing tomorrow, Thursday we are going on a helicopter tour which should be fun.

Lance, what kind of rig did you rent there? is there anyone renting rubicons? I will be there the end of this month, and am trying to find a rubicon, they had them in maui last time i was there.
