Took her out for the first t ime yestereday!!!

I noticed that the only place I am leaking gear oil is in the fron passenger side axle tube, just before the knuckle (so oil leaks from the axle housing down onto the knuckle).

How hard is this seal to replace (so I can decide when to do it)?

you are talking near the 4 large bolts that attach the knuckle to the axle tube itself right?
There is just an o ring that mates between the flanges. I put RTV on mine in addition to the o ring.
there is not really a lot of oil in that area as it runs, so unless you hate oily, leaking stuff you will be fine until you get around to it.

do you mean its leaking from the axle housing where the shaft exits ?

Yes that is the right location. Sounds like all I need to do is remove the (4) bolts pull off the knuckle and replace the O ring (some RTV sounds like a good Idea as well)?

Yep, thats the wet, leaking spot!

Just a friendly reminder to set your locker before your pull the shaft.

I believe the shaft seal is part of the knuckle assembly and I think it would be easiest to access by pulling the portal box off the knuckle and dragging the shaft out with it.

if it leaks up there, i would recomand to replace the brons piece in the axle hose and the seal
