Yeah, weakened the cast shit. Coulda set my Gold Wings on fire. I should'a used a metal blade on my skill saw or CNC'd it... bring it :flipoff2:

I did it.. "myyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy...wayyyyyyyyyyyyy" (Frank Sinatra voice) 3/4" more clearance and nothing but a little grinding and a coat of gloss black rattle can, and she's a poor mans Dynatrac. :D

In booty fab, when you're working with torches, it's a good idea to use really dry wood as a guide!

Then, in the fine techniques of booty fabbing, one should always use ones torch to render all forms of metal and/or wood helpless!

***SPECIAL NOTE, IT'S A GOOD IDEA TO SHOVE A GREEN HANDLED FLAT HEAD SCREWDRIVER UNDER THE COVER TO PREVENT BUILDUP OF RESIDUAL OILS DISTILLING INTO FUELS THAT COULD BLOW YOUR LEGS OFF***

Now your ready to grind clean the case, loose 3/4 inch of that darned cast iron stuff, paint it up with Rustolem black and insall!

Thanks for checking in with Loppys bootie fab 70 shave!

Are you serious?

Why did you not just GRIND it?

I trimmed mine about the same amount,
BUT first cut it with the skill saw, then grinded it down with the grinder, no heat dammage....

I dont know man...., I wouldent take a torch to my d70

Why didn't you just tie it to your truck and drag it down the road for a few miles??? :flipoff2:

Uhhh... Yeah I'm serious. :flipoff2: Did you read my first line? Why not just grind it? Cause that took about 30 seconds to do, that's why. Now I'm gunna grind it smooth and make it look all pretty just like yours.

What heat damage? It's a brick shithouse for gods sake.
"I dont know man...., I wouldent take a torch to my d70 " Why, because thier so rare? hahahahaha... Mabe you live in Afganistan or something. Round here, they're falling off trees. :D I figured WTF. If I hammer it, drive a few miles and get a new one.

   a normal 10k rpm 4" grinder has a wheel speed of 10,000 feet per minnute.. 5.5kft in a mile so he would have to drag it down the road over 120 mph to do the same work in a minnute as a 4" angle grinder :flipoff2:

Hot pink? You're confusing me with Keith Strong. Dont do that again or I may have to hunt you down. :D

Band saw, that'd be nice, but I aint got one. Thought about the skill saw thing, but I did'nt have a steel cutt'n blade on me and OSH is a coulple of miles away. That would have been WAY too much effort and cost.

I had a Camo 60 tree but the damn drip system line got clogged with earwigs. I did'nt catch it before it died. It was a young tree too and had just dropped it's first Dana 30. That sucked

My Dynatrac tree just blew over in that last storm. That really sucked. I did'nt get any complete fruit off it and it was just starting to bud some pretty sick spindles! :(

I am attacking my 14 Bolt with a 9" grinder and thin cutting wheel.
A band saw would be nice (I wouldn't have welts from grinding wheels coming apart), but who cares, the result is the same.

These things come in trucks that are made to haul loads twice the weight of Loppy's Jeep. A little heat is not going to hurt anything.
