I'm currently working on my roommates 1995 Explorer, 2WD, 4.0, automatic.

He had the transmission rebuilt, we did the removal and reinstallation our selves. All in all the removal went fine... but the shop had to replace the torque converter, and didn't install it on the tranny before we got it back. I have heard that you have to slip it on the tranny, turn it some, then it will slide all the way on. It did not do this when we spun the torque converter. We now have the tranny in place, but the torque converter isn't in all the way and we therefore can't complete the install. How the heck do I get this thing in all the way????

well to me there is no real "trick"
just wiggle it around. and turn the output shaft with it in gear... oh and make sure you put fluid in it first...
eventually it'll fall into place..

the shop should have a special tool to set the torqe converter shaft with the bell housing . if they did not do this you might not ever get it in there . somtimes they are tricky to get in . but if your having that mutch trouble you need to call them or take it back . ask me how i know . i removed the bell housing on mine , they had to reset it.

YOU ALSO NEED TO HAVE THE THROTEL VALVE PRESSURE CHEKED AFTER REINSTALL
