I am in the research phase of setting up a ftoy and want to know a little more about the suspension. I knows its mini truck based but does anyone run the stock leaf springs vs. lift kit from All Pro or the likes?

Using Hendrix's ftoy chassis what is the largest tire I can fit with the stock suspension? I'd like to keep a low center of gravity similar to the moon buggies but maybe add the chevy 63's in the rear and some long travel shocks ....

Sorry if these come off newb but I couldn't find any threads on suspension setup.

Thanks JK

Read F-toy builds. They most likely all will say in there some where what springs there running. Alot of guys run the TG 4" or 5 " springs cause they work and are affordable, thats what I have. 63" chevys work and are cheap but offer very poor departure angle , F-150 springs flex nicely and the center pin is offset so depending on the direction you run them you can have great aproach and departure angles. People run those front and rear and there $50 at most pick n pulls as are the 63"s

A low CG was a primary design goal in the design of the FT using a 3" lift front spring and an inboarded 5" lift in the rear with the shackle on top of the rear crossmember.

Using the all pro, trail gear or marlin springs you will find that adding an additional stock spring up front and removing a leaf in the rear may be nessasary to dial it in depending on your weight and setup.

Obviously there have been many variations of spring setups used but that is the basis of how we designed the ftoys to work best.

37" work well with that setup, no practical knowledge of how it would work with stock suspension but I will guess 33's on stock springs. With stock springs you will be stuck with the stock push pull steering and that doesn't cut it
( you might be able to run cross over non high steer with stock springs if you could find a set of arms )

Oh and get moon buggy out of your head  f-toys will never handle like a moon buggy. They are awesome in there own right. But moon buggies they are not.
