We are wanting to camp at Ballarat and hit some trails for spring break but I cant fit the truck in the trailer. Can I drive my buggy on the roads in that area or will I go to jail?

Pretty sure you'll be fine on Indian Ranch Road and the trails on the Panamint side. Ive seen bikes and quads up and down that stretch. Indian Ranch Road is county maintained, not a BLM route. Stay off the pavement.
Half way up the mountain you do cross into the Park, and that is a no green sticker area. Street licensed only. People do it but if a ranger saw you its a ticket. Is your plate not valid ?

From Ballarat it is possible to get to the Argus side of the valley and not leave dirt, but its a loooong way to get anywhere. Isham is doable though.

When are you going ?

k.

The buggy is registered and insured but far from street legal.
We will be headed out April 20th.

Should not be an issue. Saw a ranger on Coyote canyon Rd.(Goler Wash) last weekend and he didn't say anything to me about my pile.
Bring ear plugs, I didn't and the long drives on dirt roads with the wind was painful.
Why didn't you come out with us last week?

Had prior commitments otherwise I would have.

I've got one more trick to see if I can get the truck in the trailer. If that doesn't work we are taking the buggy.

We didn't end up taking the buggy, scored this hardcore wheeling machine just in time for the trip.

Check out the articulation!!! Bad Ass. Nothing in Panamint the Sammy can't do, except Isham Cyn. Is there still snow up top?

We did Pleasant, South Park and Goller. Had a little trouble with the water fall on Goller took about 5 tries. Didn't see any snow, it was about 85 on the valley floor and 65-70 on top.
