not enough pictures to be sure but pumpkin appears to be 60-dana-spicer made closed knuckle 44's and 60's could be wrong but clean all the crud off pumpkin should find 60 cast on housing.parts for these units are probably unobtanibum

You can get parts for the closed knuckle dana 60 front & dana 70 rear in M715,M725's from AB Linn or other military surplus joints. You can get brand new axles still in military wrapped boxes for $50 per side.

kaiser's had a closed knuckle 60 front with 5.87 gears, do you need another?

What is wrong with a Dana 60 out of a Kaiser?

What can be so wrong about a 60 with 5.87 gears? Sounds cool to me.

coarse-spline axle-shafts, rather small tubes, drum brakes, spring-under pads, UPS-truck bolt-pattern.

Far from garbage, but given the choice between them and an 8-lug D44 front axle, I'd probably go for the D44.

I just helped put the 44 version of that in an XJ. Looks like same size ball. It uses the same ujoints as the mid-80's Furd D50's, external snap ring, almost 60 size. Of course it still has a small stub shaft and regular 30 spline inner.
It's got Wilwood 4 piston calipers too. (now)
Oh, the top 44HD kingpin looks identical to a 60 bottom kingpin... weird shit.

they do? why?I don't know. They cut them up and sell them to recycling facilities... you'll never find one in a scrapyard.

A buddy of mine has an M715 and a friend who used to work for UPS. They figured it out together...
