Had to pick up 260ft of 1.75 x .120 tubing today and had to come up with a way to transport without a bed with a rack. i have a hitch reciever in the front and one in the back. built an 2 uprights with some 2" i had lying around. tied it all down and worked well without any shifting :D

Glad to hear it worked good. I used to load trucks at the lumber yard I worked at when I lived in Fullerton,CA. There was a contractor that had a rack set up kinda like that. His was a little lower to the cab and almost as wide as the truck. He could put a pretty good size load on it and he said it drove pretty good cause the load was centered on the truck and not on the back half of the truck. I thought about building something kinda like that for my Dodge. I don't haul enough long stuff to justify a full lumber rack. A rack like that would be nice for the few times a year I would haul something longer that 12 foot.
