: back door tire size
sandaddik2 04-27-2011, 09:54 PM today i was doing more work to my jeep, and i know when you go to back door you see the typical rock buggies, cut up jeeps/yotas on 40-42 getting up bd,
i want to know what the smallest size tire rig to make it up the first water fall has been, wheelbase also.
pics or it didnt happen no bs:D
sandaddik2 04-28-2011, 07:59 PM so no one drives up backdoor anymore?:flipoff2:
rsqne1 04-28-2011, 08:06 PM 100"+ wheelbase and 37" tires...I'm sure shorter rigs with smaller tires have done it, but they also had to fight to make it...
Horsepower helps, too!!!
WLD_OTZ 04-29-2011, 10:53 AM 35", basically stock body Tacoma... I think it was 35", Jon Bundrant driving.

Krusty 04-29-2011, 11:09 AM during the Carnage For The Cause-- team comp tween -Pirates / URJB / Tin Benders, before the lower falls got dug out, i think the tires ran from 33's to 36's -- mostly on FToy type buggies.

thats what i was thinking also.
as far as the 100 plus wb, that should be a given, and if you mention 33s and back door, your either being sarcastic, or your talking out your ass because you havnt been there:flipoff2: the f-toy comment would be an exception if it was done before koh
anyone ran up it on something around 40s RECENTLY?
robertd 05-01-2011, 05:46 PM I was at back door a couple weeks ago. Tire size really isn't the issue anymore..It's all about a long a$$ wheel base. You can try it with a short wheel base and 40's plus but you better have a big set of balls and not care about landing on your lid :grinpimp:
tjmark 05-01-2011, 06:06 PM I crawled it 2 weeks ago. Whats the big deal?:flipoff2:

Now I'm curious why you even started this thread since you apparently already knew the answer...:shaking:

billybob13 05-01-2011, 07:38 PM 38" creepy crawlers that measure more like a 35" on a toyota with 115 w.b.
dont feel like posting pics though.:flipoff2:
Air Ride 05-02-2011, 12:48 PM Tire size matters about as much as your dick size on that obstacle.
Krusty 05-02-2011, 06:04 PM mike, how many times have you been up/down Backdoor ???--- 20 ? + - a few --- hoo hummm
sandaddik2 05-07-2011, 02:09 AM Now I'm curious why you even started this thread since you apparently already knew the answer...:shaking:
because all the cars with 33s are parked on the sand bank before the rocks:flipoff2:
full body vehicles that is not counting buggies.
iv got a full body xj with a 106wb on 37s and was curious if it has gotten any easier but it seems like its getting harder:D
roadkill424 05-08-2011, 07:15 PM i fliped my buggy on it with 108wb on 37s. but i know i can make it, just need to hold the throttle longer.
apeters89 05-10-2011, 08:12 PM I think wheel speed and wheelbase are more important than pure tire size.
I know we wanted more wheel speed during the LCQ.
chevcruiser 05-19-2011, 08:49 PM this was my first year to johnson valley(koh) so im not sure how it was before koh had its way with it. i climbed it with 38.5 boggers and 110 wb. it was all about wheel speed and a good bump for me.
