I've installed the J60 steering box and now have to link it up with the tie rod.
For this I need a new drag link. I already bought new J40 Tie rod ends so I want to use them. Is there a flatter pitman arm wich accept the J40 TRE'S?
I am also having problems finding a machinist here in Belgium who can tap the akward treads. So I am considering in ordering a custom made drag link from "rockstomper.com", they have an option to include Fj80 TRE's do they fit the stock Fj60 pitman arm?
This may all seem very confusing:flipoff2: , but what i wan't to know is wich Tie Rod End is compatible with what flat pitman arm that will fit my J60 steering box! Get it :D

Hopefully I'm wrong, but to me it looks like the top part of the TRE/ castle nut might hit the frame with a flatter pitman arm ? Well, I really dunno, but that's something that needs to be considered, too...

run a *j70 steering arm as pictured. Take the ball stud out of the FJ60 pitman arm and install in the new pitman arm. Off of the old FJ40 steering stuff, take the tre end(at steering box) with the threaded plug and springs and put that on the FJ60 ball stud now on the FJ70 pitman arm. Now all you need to do is sleeve and lengthen the drag link. work for me when I had FJ60 P/s on my FJ40, but I went to Scout saginaw...

My truck is my daily driver so "booty fabbin" steering parts is not an option, without a doubt it's strong enough, but you never know, better to be safe than sorry.
And there is no way that a welded and sleeved drag link would pas the automobile inspection here in Belgium.
What i need is a custom drag link with a J 40 TRE on one end and another TRE on the other side wich fit's in a flatter pitman arm on my J60 steering box. And then hopefully, the Automobile inspection people won't notice that i messed around with the steering.
