Hi!

Any reccomendations on places I can buy (or get angle iron in Sac or the Bay ARea? I was looking for a few relatively small pieces to build a rocker guard and a winch mount, and the steel place here in Pleasanton was asking $80 for 10 gauge!!

The dimensions I am looking for are:
-rocker guards: 55X6X10 -55 long by 6 side by 10 side can be 10 gauge or thicker.

-winch mount 33X8X6 Needs to be thicker, probably 3/8's?

I really appreciate your help

Down the street from my house is a scrap yard that'll probably have some.
They sell it by the pound
Might be a little weathered but an agro wire wheel takes care of that.

Hi Todd,

Thanks for the info! I would like to check it out. Do you know what the name of the place is, and who you normally talk with over there?

Thanks,

Gui

Alling Iron or American Metals in West Sac.
Kimzey Welding in Woodland.
Kimzey did a full fab job on my winch plate, similar dimensions, cost me $60 out the door.

Alling Iron has a scrap bin that they sell cheaply, and every time I have been there, they had what I needed in the scrap.
