Buddy of mine just called..... has a sterling 10.25 rear open with 4.11's he wants to part with.
$300
seems a bit steep to me considering that theres 2 on the board right now for under $200, but thats not counting shipping.
So, could i re-sell it and make some cash? or does anyone want it?
Nate.

if ya got lucky and found someone that tore up his ford truck. not much use for them, when dana can be had for the same money or cheaper with a much better gear and locker selection. i would pass

Yep, not a big market for them. Too bad, because I think they are a cool axle, but unless you want to run it pretty much how it is, no one really wants em. Maybe one day, someone will come out with some lower gears, and some more locker selections. IMHO, dont waste your time on it unless you get it for like $100 or so.

uhh there are gears all the way up to 5.38's, detroit and I think that miller and lincoln make spools for them. Not a lot of clearance is the only downfall to them in my book. 35spline 1.5" shafts fullfloating stock.

i gained a 1/2 inch of clearance going from my 60 rear to my sterling rear. i got 12.5 inches with 39 boggers

I've taken about 6 to the scrap yard recently. I wouldn't even use one for a boat anchor. :flipoff2:

Except in Abq where Sceep and I am. They sell for way more.
I wouldnt buy it unless he came down at least $100. If you are looking for a axle for your rig sceep you can find a 14 bolt in the yards here for about that same price.

they suck!! spend $100-$200 on a 14 bolt ready to rock.. or the same on a 60 that'll need a little upgrade.. or find a dana 70.. all much better rears imho

Please inform me why those other axles are so much better.

Are you sure about 5.38's? I thought 4.11 was a deep as they go.

I know for sure 4.56's, I just set some up for a customer. 5.38's I'm not sure about though.

5.38's are available from Randys R&P for the 10.25.
5.13 Are available as well.
They are an "ok" axle but extreamly heavy....prone to pinion bearing failure * specially if turned pinion up for a lift* and cost $$$ to upgrade...Arb and Detroit are available ect.... not a bad rear just the 14 Bolt is most likley cheaper and easier to use.........and arguably stronger.
