Need to go to a drivers side drop on my CJ. I currently run a t-18a/d20 and searched to find out what I'd need to do but the info was incomplete.

I get the bit about using a t-176 bell housing. Is the sr4 BH I have laying around the same?

There is a reference to changing the pilot bushing. Which one do I need?

I need a new clutch anyway so is there a specific one that is in my best interest to use. Search came up Mustang. I assume I will use a Jeep pressure plate.

Am I missing anything?

All this to drop in a '79 hp60 front/ 60 rear (hp center when I can find another front for the same price I found these for).

thanks.

Are you going this route because you want a low first?

It would be a hell of a lot easier to replace the gears in the tranny.

You wouldn't need any adapters, bell housings or dl mods.

I have no info for you...but if you do switch, I have a buddy who might be interested in your t-18 and bell. PM me if you want to sell it.

Already got 6.32:1, so why the fawk would I do this for gears? 6.68:1 is not a worthy jump, just an added bonus.

Trying to swap this 'cause:

1. I have one mated to a drivers drop t-case.

2. Have a king pin reverse cut 60 front from a ford to put under there. Ford= drivers drop axles. Plus the matching 60 rear.

3. I am a cheap bastid and if this works it will all be done relatively cheap. Bought the whole truck for $100. :flipoff2:

I thought I was pretty clear why in the initial post.

Scout Dude:
It will be for sale if this all works out but I would think the cost of shipping would make it prohibitive for your friend. NH is a long way from CA.
