I'd like to fab my own Scrambler frame, but I'm not having much luck in finding a copy of the plans specific to the CJ-8 posted anywhere. The plans that I've found, http://www.geocities.com/Yosemite/1740/frames.html
are for the CJ-7 and 8 combined, and are incorrect. The plans show the CJ-7 and 8 as having the same wheelbase. Does anyone have any idea where I might find a copy of CJ-8 frame plans online?

hay if u go to that page u said didnt work. if u look it has a different section for the cj8. the front all the way back to the doors are the same on the cj7 and the cj8. the back is all that is different. i think the letter is H. that is the end of the frame. insted of bing 46.16" it is 70.02 for the cj8. that should help u.

I can see that dimension 'H' is different, but according to dimension 'S' the distance between the spring hangers is the same on the CJ-7 and 8. That can't be correct if the wheelbase of the 8 is ~10" longer than the 7.

Dean,
I can verify the dimensions tomorrow (saturday)I have a cj8 frame laying up here, a piece of one anyway....
the dimension "S" looks suspect

Dean,
The dimension S in the drawing 49.06 the dimension I mesured is about 59 inches (I cut the front ones off to do a shackel reversal but remnants of the mount is still there)

Thanks Archie, that's a huge help. Now all I need to do is figure out what else has to be done to the rear of a CJ-7 frame to set it up for a bobbed CJ-8 tub. According to those plans, there's still another two inches of length needed somewhere in the rear.
