I need to move my CJ-7's power steering gear box forward about an inch and Sam's doesn't make a brace for that.
I'd like to make one up but it would be a lot easier if I had a drawing or template of one like Sam's makes.
Any help? Tips?

Ruffstuff Industries (ruffstuffindustries.com) makes a bracket just like sams that will move the box forward 1.5". I just put one in my jeep and they are a nice piece.

Does anyone have a template for these braces? I just searched through five pages worth of people paying $80+ for a steering brace that consists of about 4 pieces of steel with a couple holes in them.

I've got to fix my brace this weekend, and need to know what size of material to pick up so I can make my own. I'm not looking to move the box at all, but obviously it needs beefed up.

Can anyone at least tell me what size pieces of 1/2" plate I'll need to make the repairs?
