We just bought another Jeep, a 49 CJ2A, that brings us to 5. :D :D :D I'm starting from scratch as all that's really worth anything is the body and frame, I found a 14 and 60 for it and have a 350/465/300 I can put in so that's pretty well covered. My question is about going with either coils or leafs for springs. I searched for a while and didn't find much in the way of a comparison between the two. Seems guys love one and hate the other. So any suggestions?

Waggy 7 leaf HD springs, SOA.

Leafs are going to be cheaper and easier to set-up over coils.

If you are looking to have a longer wheelbase on the jeep then coils will allow you to stretch it a lot longer than leafs would.

I would go with Wag springs in the front SOA with a 4-link in the rear.

Thanks for the advice guys. I'll go do a search for info on the 4 link for the rear. I picked up a set of waggy springs off of a wide track Cherokee yesterday for free.
