I've got to remove the exhaust manifold to fix a break. Took all the electrical connections off OK, but got stopped at the fuel line going into the front of the intake. I've got the full manual, but all it says is special tool required. Tried a couple of small screwdrivers, but it wouldn't come off and didn't want to break it. Does anyone know what type tools would take it off. Just took a 92 apart and it had little black plastic circle things that you pushed in and the lines came out, but my 97 doesn't have them.
Thanks.
Failing getting the line off, I thought about trying to weld it from the inside of the manifold. Will it take a MIG weld?

To to your local parts store and ask for a fuel line quick connect tool. It's a plyer looking thing with two semi circle prongs that diconnect the fuel line. They come in different sizes, your's should be either 5/16 or 3/8.

2 issues...

A. There is no need to disconnect it, you can just pull the whole rail off and hold it aside.

B. They are quick connects just push them togther slid the retainer and pull them apart, no tool needed.

I suggest option A.
