I had a few rigs go in from the hyw 89 side to try and get into Medow lake. There is so much snow that it will take 100* weather all through July to melt off all that snow. It got as deep at 20' with snow drifts. It took 11 hrs. to drive 5 miles. About 4 miles short of medow lake a having a wich fest there was no way to go any further than the last turnoff to the lake. The pics do not do justice.

For those who are still doubting the amount of snow up there... Sugar Bowl, Squaw, Kirkwood, and Alpine Meadows are all opening up for skiing this weekend.

Yes, there's a WHOLE lot still up there at the higher elevations and especially in the trees where most of the roads and trails are. No surprise we can't get through Rubicon and Fordyce yet.

A few years ago we had to snow wheel quite a bit to get to Meadow Lake on July 4th weekend, but the trail itself was mostly clear. This year there's a whole lot more.

Just checked Dreamflows, 1,208 cfs, no river crossing anytime soon. The highest I have ever crossed was 325 cfs and almost floated away!!!!!!

Don't even get started on bridges!! They are spending millions on them at Rubicon and Barrett... and don't tell me it makes any environmental sense to drag tractors and concrete in there to do it! :mad3:

nope... that crap is assinine.. but building pre-downed log bridges is a good time. I can already hear the communist news outlet headlines about environmental destruction. It's totally doable though. Built some cool stuff on some vehicle mfg programs I've worked on. Just waiting for the right survival reason to do it. Cross in is not one lol. :smokin:

I'm going back into Medow the last weekend of July. I should be able to make it all the way in this time.
