thats along way. Forward air( www.forwardair.com ) would charge you $300 to seattle, and then it would be another $200 to ship it to the closest airport to haines. so it would cost a lot.

Brook, you know it's a small wheelin community when you ask questions like that.......

Forwardair is prolly gonna be your cheapest bet.......Haines is WAY out of the way. Ask him if he is going to be in Anchorage any time soon or Whitehorse. If he is willing to drive to whitehorse you can send it in a truck, that will save you some $$

Friend pays about 18 cents a pound to Anchorage, but private shippers pay about 1.00 a pound anything under that is "cheap"

Hey guys why does everything have to be sent by air freight? Seems to me alot of money is being wasted by shipping non-urgent packages by air. Unless it is an emergency, or you are so excited that you are going to pee your pants if you don't get it right away, everything is cheaper by ground.

Try these
shipper 1 (www.wpx.com)
shipper 2 (www.alaskaaircargo.com)

Ground ship to Kent, WA Terminal of Span Alaska (http://www.spanalaska.com/) which is a Freight Consolidator, then ground ship to Haines

I've used them to ship tires from WA to AK twice, and friends have done the same, as well as larger items.

This is too funny! I was just in Haines a couple years ago. My gf's dad was having several things shipped to him, he kept having to go the local (aviation?) office to see if it had come in thru UPS. IIRC UPS only delivers to one location, and it just happened to the be the same office for like plane tours, etc...

For the most part I hated the place, but there were lots of cool 4x4 parts laying around in everyone's yards!

Its funny cause in the last month, Haines has come up in conversation 3 times. And all three times, I asked the person if they knew, "such and such", all three said "Yes" :p So now, I know like 8 people in Haines, I think thats all of them :D

so far since i moved to fairbanks the cheapest way to get tires is through sam's club so you don't pay shipping they don't carry all brands but you can work with them here. but for air frieght i would truck them to whitehorse and have customer pick them up. hell it cost me 15.00 just to ship 2 dozen arrows from washington
to fairbanks ground shipped. and it weighed 1 pound and 3 ounces!
