Hello Mog Nerds,

I'm looking for a long, single tank, with filler neck, to replace the 2 stock tanks on the side of a 404. Ideally it'd be at least 20 gallons, but it'd be better to have 30ish. Cells listed at Summit are all square. I've seen the nice Doka here with the Ford Ranger tank, so sourcing a unit like that from some 'normal' rig might work. I will build a skid to protect it.

You opinions are appreciated. I will continue my searching. Thanks!

Oh, and I've got 40" x 16" x 12H" to work with. :)

Honestly, I love the ranger tank setup. Then you can fill the stock tank position with under bed tool boxes etc if you like.

If I ran gasoline, I would do the ranger tank in a heart beat.

I'd have to mount the ranger tank outside the framerails, as we have the stock locker linkage. You think it'd fit within the space of the 2 stock tanks? Thanks Puff! Love your mog!

Hey, so how would I wire up a 12v sender to a 24v Unimog? Or are there 24V senders?

Hey there Ryan!

I have been thinking about this also for when my tanks decide to rust thru on me. The tanks I have been thinking about are the step tanks on medium duty trucks or the tanks on M35A2's.
