So where might one find one of these for less than like $800???
If I were to go to the local junkyards what do I look for? I've heard front 89 to 91 TLC FJ 80. Is this correct?

Not sure on the junk yard info, but

I hear Sterling Mcall Toyota in Houston, TX sells new hi-pinion diff WITH an e-locker for around $750.

or try http://www.inchwormgear.com/

search the Toy and Cruiser forums. Tons of info there

Yup. hi-pinions are FJ-80 landcruiser units.

Oh, and FYI: Hi-Pinion + Cheap = oxymoron.

I bought mine off of the orc suzuki bbs for $50, but it was toast...all I wanted was the casting anyways.

got mine from inchworm.

I really couldn't find anything used in the time frame I wanted it that didn't cost almost as new.

You'd think that if you could buy a brand new electric High-pinion chunk for Seven-Fiddy you ought to be able to buy a new open hydiff for around $500.
<But dat chit AIN'T gonna happen......>

I have had my eyes peeled for a buildable FJ80 junk since the Summer, and no go so far. :crybaby:

someone is selling one in the forsale section..

Of course, his used price is almost higher than new price from AllPro.

WITH a locker would be sweet but I'd take one w/o a locker & weld it if need be.;)
